Welcome to Bendigo Junior Braves

Under 14 Basketball Victoria Country Championships - Sat 13th and Sun 14th April 2013

The Bendigo Junior Braves Under 14 Boys and Girls were runners-up at the Basketball Victorian Country Titles on the weekend playing 33 different country associations including Geelong, Shepparton and Ballarat to name a few. The championships were held at the Bendigo Stadium in front of large crowds in an event sponsored by the City of Greater Bendigo and Bendigo Stadium.
 
The Under 14 Boys went through the 8 game schedule undefeated and in the Gold Medal Match were beaten by the highly ranked Southern Peninsula, which included 2 players 12 and 13 years old that were 6ft2 tall. The final score was Bendigo 32 versus Southern Peninsula 42.
 
The Under 14 Girls fought back from a first round loss in the preliminary rounds to also make it through to the Gold Medal Match. In a nail biter where Bendigo led early 9 to 2, the Moe team came back late to take the game 37 to 34.
 
Over the past 3 months the Bendigo Junior Braves have also attended the other age group Championship events. At the conclusion of these events the rankings of the Bendigo teams within Country Victoria are as follows:

Under 12 Girls – Ranked 13 to 16
Under 12 Boys – Ranked 5 to 8
Under 14 Girls – Ranked 2
Under 14 Boys – Ranked 2
Under 16 Girls – Ranked 3 to 4
Under 16 Boys – Ranked 5 to 8
Under 18 Girls – Ranked 10
Under 18 Boys – Ranked 2
Under 20 Boys – Ranked 2

Bali Braves

During the second half of 2012, members of the Bendigo Junior Braves committee traveled to Bali, Indonesia.
